INFACT partner Andrea Viezzoli from Aarhus Geophysics recently gave a presentation on Airborne IP effects during the AGU-SEG Airborne Geophysics Workshop in Davie, Florida. In his presentation, Andrea explains the basic principles of Airborne IP effects in time domain electromagnetics (TDEM) data and how – if not taken into account – these effects are responsible of incorrect inversion modelling of electrical resistivities, and loss of extra information about the subsurface relevant for mineral exploration. One of the case studies discussed is Las Cruces, one of two INFACT reference sites for exploration in Spain.
